![]() I would guess you have blown a fuse somewhere in the switch circuit. Is the switch a momemtary with the switch sitting in the center position? Is there any label on the switch? What is make and model of rig? You could cycle it off and then on to verify it is working. If you are working on battery power while camping it is working. The latching relay is the battery disconnect. The brown latching relay can be taken apart and cleaned. I carry a spare but of course it hasn't failed. I siliconed around the crimped housing joint. The silver relay in my rig gets corroded on the inside from moisture as it is located under the hood. I would look for a blown fuse if it is not operating. The switch is for the battery disconnect. Yes, you need it to charge both battery systems. That could be the control wire from the intellitec isolator relay delay. I think I see a small red wire hanging loose. Relay on left the silver one is the charge and auxilary start relay. Picasa Album of our MH refurb in progress I assume the isolator relay is on the right (it has the wires from the switch attached.), but not sure what the one on the left is.Īny ideas on how to track down why the charging circuit stopped working?Įdited 04/05/11 04:55pm by an administrator/moderator * I found the above relays but not sure what they all do. ![]() There are no fuses blown that I have found. I am plugged into shore power, and both the AC and 12 lights are working. Last time this happened, someone had triggered the battery isolator but today when I hit the switch, there was no relay clunk. It now seems the house battery is also dead. I had installed a trik-L-Charge last summer and up until now had no problems. Today i went to start the motorhome for it's long overdue maint run. I would also assume that if the isolator is pulled in, as I can hear the loud click as described in the manual, I should have continuity across the other two terminals on it? I just wish there was a way to checking without pulling out the circuit board as all the disconnects and isolator are behind it.RV.Net Open Roads Forum: Tech Issues: Battery isolator relay dead? Open Roads Forum I think they are saying that naturally when the isolator relay is pulled in voltage should be the same on both sides? If the voltage is more than 0.1 volts replace the relay." ![]() "If there is voltage on the coil, check for voltage between the main and auxiliary batteries. They also say this on page 7, which I do not completely understand? This is what it has always done from shore power, from the alternator, from the generator, from the solar panels, etc. Yes that is the manual, which I have, As you see on page 2 if either set goes above 13.3 volts while charging the isolator relay (solenoid) pulls in and both sets should charge. Some battery control centers have what is called a BIRD set up to charge batteries. ![]() I run a jumper between the two positive terminals to charge chassis battery. ***Link Removed***That sounds correct as many battery control centers do not have the capability to charge chassis battery from shore power. It appears that that when plugged in only the Auxiliary Batteries are charging and when not plugged in, but RV is running, only the Chassis batteries are charging even though I can hear the click of the Isolation Relay in all tests, which when engaged should charge both.Īny Ideas? Think it needs a new isolation relay? Anyway to test it? Always went all the way across when RV was running.Īuxiliary – 12.60 Volts - Didn't show increase. ISSUE: Normally when RV is started, the solar charge controller goes to 13.6+ Volts and Green Charge Light goes all the way to the end. NOTE: Solar Panels are connected to Auxiliary Batteries. I will try to put as much info as possible in this first post. I also have solar panels and a digital controller that tells me the status of the panels and battery voltage. This is an Intellitec BCC Mini-Gas #53-00524-100. I have a possible issue and was looking for some help.
